The air compressor will be complete with all components that are customarily offered with the air compressor of this type, furnished as standard equipment whether or not stipulated herein, together with such other equipment as may be necessary to enable the air compressor to function reliably and efficiently in sustained operation, or to meet requirements set forth in this CID.

2.12  Lifting and tiedown.  Lifting and tiedown attachments shall be provided.  Instructions for the use of the attachments or procedures shall be included on plates permanently affixed to the air compressor.

2.13  Safety.  All rotating or reciprocating parts and parts subject to high operational temperatures that are of such a nature or are so located as to be or become a hazard to the operating or attending personnel shall be guarded or insulated to the extent necessary to eliminate the hazard.

2.14  Noise.  The noise level of the air compressor shall meet the requirements of CFR 40, Part 204 - Noise Emission Standards for Construction Equipment.

2.15  Treatment and painting.  The parts of the air compressor normally painted shall be cleaned, treated, and painted in accordance with the offeror's standard commercial practice.  The final color shall be color number 24084 of FED-STD-595.

3.  REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS.  The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable, in accordance with paragraph 23.403 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).

4.  PRODUCT CONFORMANCE.  The products provided shall meet the salient characteristics of this CID, conform to the producer's own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices, and be the same product offered for sale in the commercial marketplace. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance.

4.1  Responsibility for inspection.  The contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspections (examinations and tests).

5.  PACKAGING.  Preservation, packing, and marking shall be as specified in the contract or order (see 6.3).

6.  NOTES.

6.1  Part or Identification Number (PIN).  The following PIN procedure is for Government purposes and does not constitute a requirement for the contractor.  The PINs to be used for wheel-mounted compressor unit acquired to this CID are created as follows:
